First I would like to thank my Radical counselors for all their help in getting me to UC Berkeley and other prestigious colleges.

While I started with counseling services late in high school, Radical was able to help me build a unique identity around my passion. My entire college application revolved around this unique identity and made my application stand out.

Initially, the college application process was overwhelming. Radical helped me navigate it in an organized manner. They suggested the right niche colleges for me based on my preferences, and helped me tailor my application to each of these. They had a fast response time on essay edits and continuously helped me “uplevel” everything that I had done. I was surprised as to how much work goes into college applications, so the guidance was invaluable.

My son attended a private school in the SF Bay Area. He has been an A student and taken many AP courses, in addition to leading the school robotics team. The school counselor covered the essentials of college admissions but we were lacking specific advice tailored to my son's ambitions and goals.

Geeta advised my son on course selection for his senior year and prioritized summer opportunities to help him clearly understand the impact of different activities in the admissions process. Many of her suggestions were not obvious or intuitive and made a huge difference in allocation of limited time and energy of an already overwhelmed high schooler. She did a thorough review of college applications and provided a number of critical insights and suggestions that he missed even after several iterations with the school teachers and counselor.

My journey started in middle school writing the first game in my parents’ basement. My goals were hefty, and thanks to Radical I am on my way to achieve them at UC Berkeley.

While I was always a CS enthusiast, we didn’t know how to reach top colleges. With Radical’s help, I was admitted to UC Berkeley as an out of state student. I also got into other top tier colleges, giving me cool options.

Radical was with me through high school, pointing me in the right direction, giving me advice on all high school activities, from coursework to summer options and everything in between.  I loved that everything was so systematic and professional, that it was easy to follow the path laid out for me.

Most of my friends were really stressed with their college applications. However, with Radical’s methodology, I finished all my applications with high quality and well ahead of time. I loved how structured the whole process was, never felt anything would get dropped.

I had a different counselor to help me with applications, but I wasn’t getting the guidance I needed. I tried searching online but the advice was overwhelming & conflicting. I felt stuck and the deadlines were fast approaching.

Being part of the school tennis team was very important for my son, which meant that he had very little time to also build up his STEM interests. Even more difficult was to research and figure out what direction would be right for him. We started counseling with Radical, and before long, he was working on pneumonia research - something we could not have figured out easily by ourselves. This was possible only because of very specific guidance we got from our counselor. This year he was thrilled to be selected at his first choice prestigious summer program.

The main problem that our family faced as my son entered HS was that he wanted to do a lot of things in a specific area of interest. While we are thankful to have so many options available for learning and growing, there are only 24 hours in a day!

Geeta helped us by brainstorming about how these activities are mundane/fun from my son's perspective and important/non-important from college perspective, to help him choose the right balance. We started with Geeta and Veena when our rising 12th grader needed guidance for college applications.  It seemed like a daunting task not knowing how to approach it.  Immediately, they were able to bring both strategy and clarity to the process, and simplified it into a step by step process. Following their guidance we were able to make her application competitive and really shine while focusing on her most notable achievements.

While our older child knew her career goals early on, our middle schooler needed guidance. Veena worked with our middle-schooler to discover her major of interest, providing exposure in fields that are not taught at school until much later. With this clarity, she can build depth in her subject of choice gaining advantage in high school.
